Frequently Asked Questions
Q. How long has Total Computer Group been in business?
A. We have been in business since 1988.
Q. Is Total Enforcement a true Microsoft .NET product?
A. Yes - Total Enforcement is service oriented, using business objects and an enterprise level application framework. We developed Total Enforcement from the ground up as a .NET application. There is no outdated legacy code in Total Enforcement.
Q. How long has the Total Enforcement RMS/CAD solution been on the market?
A. We first released Total Enforcement in November of 2004. We developed this true Microsoft .NET solution 2½ years before our first release. (An application released prior to that time would not be a true .NET framework system because the .NET development platform was not yet ready.)
Q. How many RMS/CAD vendors in North America have a .NET environment built from the ground up?
A. Microsoft has informed us that there are only three such vendors in North America. Of those three, Total Computer Group is the only one on the United States East Coast.
Most of the systems on the market today are based on older technology and some legacy applications still exist. For us, coming to this market later is an advantage, because we built our software on the very latest technology available, while including all the functionality of the legacy systems. We applied the knowledge and mistakes of those legacy vendors as we developed Total Enforcement. Most other vendors have to update their technology at some point very soon because Microsoft has indicated it will no longer support legacy development software such as Visual FoxPro beyond its Version 9.
Q. What is the advantage of a .NET application?
A. The advantages of a .NET application are:
- Stability

- Ability To Interface Into Any Other Application Quickly and Efficiently
- Use of Web Services

Leveraging the .NET Framework
Did you know? Microsoft will discontinue support and security for Windows NT, 9x, 95, 98, & ME. Legacy systems built on these obsolete platforms will lose mission-critical support from Microsoft.
Total Enforcement is one of the only enterprise-level systems that leverages Microsoft's next-generation .NET framework from the ground up. Microsoft's revolutionary .NET platform is the perfect foundation for a superior RMS/CAD system for law enforcement.

It quickly was apparent to our team that the Total Enforcement Software Application was the perfect solution. Not only that, but to find an application developer that had a full depth technology support team was to us the perfect package. We had spent many years suffering with outdated products and lack of support. Law enforcement is already a difficult job without the added burden of the ever changing world of technology to deal with... "
