Total Computer Group Expands Into Rhode Island to Offer Powerful Technology Solutions to Area Law Enforcement Agencies

Total Enforcement™ System Uses Microsoft .NET Architecture for Maximum Efficiency and Functionality; Rhode Island and Massachusetts Law Enforcement Agencies to Gain Local Alternative to Antiquated Legacy Computer Aided Dispatch/Records Management Systems

Melville, NY/East Providence, RI, Nov. 29, 2007 - Total Computer Group, one of the most respected computer technology solution providers and application development firms in the nation, today announced that it will expand service and support to the New England region through the opening of its newest office, located in East Providence, Rhode Island. The new Total Computer office will be located at 176 Greenwood Avenue in East Providence.

The company will market its Total Enforcement Computer Aided Dispatch/Records Management System (CAD/RMS) software, a state-of-the-art, automated solution, to area law enforcement agencies. The Rhode Island community, in particular, will benefit from the addition of a local provider for these mission-critical systems, giving them an ideal alternative to the out-of-date and end-of-lifecycle product currently deployed by many law enforcement agencies in the Ocean State.

Recently many Rhode Island and Massachusetts law enforcement agencies learned that a West Coast firm had purchased the long-time provider of their RMS software. This same firm had previously purchased records management source code from another vendor and is expected to combine these technologies with its own CAD software to create an integrated system.

"We share the Rhode Island and Massachusetts law enforcement communities' concern about the future of their RMS software," said Total Computer Group president Vincent Tedesco. "It is not cost effective or efficient for a company to sell or maintain two separate records management systems. More importantly, many police chiefs and IT managers are appropriately worried that their software will become obsolete, and that they will be forced into using a product they did not choose.

"We have built Total Enforcement CAD/RMS as a stable .NET solution, not a retooled older technology, making it a logical alternative to any potentially reengineered system. In addition, our local presence will ensure robust and timely support for the region's agencies."

For the New England market, Total Computer will collaborate with two well-established companies to offer customers a variety of "best of breed" products. Total Computer's products will be available through the Hunter Systems Group, Inc. of Marshfield, MA. Hunter's staff includes many former law enforcement personnel, bringing valuable experience and expertise to the solutions they offer. In addition, through its partnership with Middletown, RI-based PURVIS Systems, Total Computer will offer a integrated fire service/law enforcement data solution for municipalities seeking an interoperable CAD/RMS system. By creating an interface between the PURVIS FD Manager IT solution and Total Enforcement, both fire service and law enforcement agencies can share real-time critical information, enabling them to cooperate more effectively at the scene of an emergency or other public safety incident.

Total Computer Group is one of only three independent public safety software vendors that provide a complete solution based on Microsoft .NET, the business-object model and service-oriented architecture. Total Enforcement is an intuitive, easy-to-learn program; its graphical user interface puts information clearly in view and makes user actions simple and decisive. Total Enforcement enjoys virtually unlimited scalability and integrates seamlessly with related public safety software such as biometrics, mapping, third party CAD solutions, as well as disparate communications platforms. Its functionality and architecture provide performance, reliability, and expandability that meets or exceeds the needs of agencies large and small-today and well into the future.
